Sumeet Tappoo

A senior student of Shri Anup Jalota, Fiji born Sumeet has already released three albums with Anup Jalota – Bhajan Sheetal, Sai Charanam, and Sai Surya Samaan.

Sumeet has also released an album with Sadhana Sargam entitled "Ram Darshan" (TIMES MUSIC) which was recently launched in Bombay by Jagjit Singh and Anup Jalota.

Real talent is measured by gruelling pressures of live performances which appear effortless. Sumeet has completed more than 200 concerts worldwide, including India, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Mauritius.

Chosen to perform at the Young Ghazal Idols of India concert in 2005

In the following year Sumeet was selected as one of four young stars to
delight audiences at India’s most prestigious Ghazal festival “Khazana” where he performed alongside singing legends including Anup Jalota,
Pankaj Udhas, Talat Aziz, Penaaz Mesani, Rajendra & Nina Mehta,
Ahmed & Mohammed Hussain, Bhupinder and Mitali.

Performed at a private function of one of Bollywood industry’s eminent personalities in the presence of superstar Amitabh Bachchan and other Bollywood celebrities having recently provided playback for a couple of films opposite Amit Kumar and Anuradha Paudwal.

This is just the beginning for singing sensation Sumeet Tappoo who presently resides in Mumbai, India.

It is a treat to hear Sumeet sing Sanskrit shlokas (ancient verses set to music). His diction is perfect and is testimony to his long hours of practice not just singing them but also in pronouncing and intonating them correctly - a challenge even for most indiginous populous of India.

That natural flair for the world's most ancient classical language has given Sumeet the ability to appreciate its influence on the poetry of middle age saints like Kabir and Meera who are household names among Indians anywhere in the world.

Sumeet's interests include world politics, economics, stock market, business and sports and travel.

Sumeet also loves his food and his favourite cuisines include Indian, Italian, Mexican, Thai & Chinese. However, his favourite is his Mum’s cooking! Sumeet’s ambition in life is to make a difference in this world and to positively influence the youth of today through his music.
